Alex is a nurse, and artist and has created her own modality for kids called Life Weaving. Alex guides kids to weave together the different threads of their creativity to create a support system for themselves. When the creative spirit is woven together it is like a web that holds us, gives us strength, confidence and a sense of belonging in life.

Over the last decade working as a nurse, Alex began to see how when we become disconnected from our creative spirit and imagination the body can become sick. By strengthening our creative spirit and imagination as children, we are working with preventative energy medicine.

For the last 5 years Alex has been working with children through art, movement, and sound to connect to our creative spirit and shine. She studied under the healer Deborah Hanekamp aka Mama Medicine - learning how to work with the elements of nature to be our own healers and connecting to our original essence through her intensive apprenticeship. The last four summers Alex has facilitated the Children’s Element Retreat at Deborahs Element Retreat In Northern Italy. During this week she teaches kids how to connect to the elements, weave their light, create an art show and feel the magic of friendship.

Alex’s mission is to share the magic of innocence with the world through kids’ creativity. Inspired by the amazing ideas, visions and imaginations she has seen in kids, she opened The Rainbow Weavers Camp in 2024 in Wellfleet on Cape Cod. The art we make at the Rainbow Weavers comes from the unique creative nature of each child. Everything they learn at camp is meant to help them use their creativity and magic to thrive in the world. Kids learn how to create an art show and design every step of the process through working together. The art kids create at camp during the week is showcased in our book- The Rainbow Weavers Gallery in Print at the end of the year!
